 LEVELING AGENTS

The main purpose of a leveling agent is to provide a proper shade to the fabric while dyeing it. In actual practice, the requirements of dyes with matching compatibility, penetration properties, and adequate automation with minimum supervision cannot be met by all the processing units, and hence a range of leveling agents for different dye-fiber systems have been developed by the textile auxiliary manufacturers to meet the quality requirement. So leveling agents not only make the dye shade even on the fabric but also controls the dyeing speed to get optimum dyeing on fabrics.

Dispersing agents are known to improve the leveling of disperse dyes on polyester fibers to a certain extent under HT dyeing conditions by inhibiting the breakdown of dispersion. The leveling agent in polyester dyeing enhances dye migration without substantially accelerating the exhaustion of dye onto the fabric being dyed.
